Thomas is a chemical engineer by profession and has dedicated three decades to BASF, where he held several different managerial roles. Until recently, he led the operations of BASF Central & South-East Europe as Group Vice President, covering 17 countries, and served as Managing Director of the Hungarian entity.
Beyond his former leadership at BASF, Thomas actively shaped the regional business landscape. He served on the board of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce, lead the EU Green Deal Working Group within the Chamber, and chaired the Sustainable Growth Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary. Additionally, he was the designated speaker for South-East Europe at the German-Eastern European Business Association in Berlin (Ostausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft).
Throughout his international career, including assignments in the Netherlands, France, Germany, and China, Thomas has developed a broad intercultural perspective and a leadership style grounded in global experience.
He is a passionate, seasoned executive, recognized for driving innovation and transformation in cross-cultural environments within the chemical industry. His leadership scope has included strategy execution, portfolio management, multicultural team development, and stakeholder engagement across industry and policy networks. His operational expertise ranges from overseeing large chemical production sites to steering entrepreneurial ventures.
