As the role of the digital technologies and MI is more important than ever in the wake of the pandemic, the Hungarian edition of the ‘Between Brains’ book arrives at the right time for the Hungarian readers (the title in Hungarian: Mesterség és intelligencia – Vegyük kezünkbe sorsunkat az MI korában). Dr. György Tilesch and Dr. Omar Hatamleh’s book tells us everything we need to know about artificial intelligence and its likely future, which will shape the next decades.
The book highlights the similarities and the future possible differences of the human and artificial intelligence, its limitations and the areas where breakthroughs are most likely to occur soon. The second half of the book also gives readers an insight into the world’s powers’ increasingly fierce struggle for supremacy in artificial intelligence. At the same time, the authors provide answers to how the widespread use of AI will affect our everyday work and leisure.
At the John von Neumann Computer Society (NJSZT), we thought it was important to publish this work, because ‘Between Brains’ (in Hungarian: Mesterség és intelligencia – Vegyük kezünkbe sorsunkat az MI korában) is not a textbook, but an interesting reading for both ordinary people and experts interested in the future of our technology, presenting objectively the concerns related to the spread of AI and how to prevent them.
We are particularly pleased that one of the authors, Dr. György Tilesch is also the MI Ambassador of the Neumann Society. Dr. Tilesch lives in the heart of IT developments, in its historic center of Silicon Valley. He is sought after by the US White House for his views on global strategic, social and ethical issues related to the likely impact of AI, and is a member of the US government’s AI Ethics, Human Policy and Data Expert Committees.
