In a recent conversation on Business Class by Jazzy, Dr. László Eszes, CEO and Academic Director of SEED Executive School, reflected on how leadership is developed through practice, habit, and mindset—well beyond the simple transfer of knowledge.

The Three Pillars of Leadership

During the discussion, Dr. Eszes outlined three core capabilities that define impactful leadership: the ability to shape one’s environment, to support the development of others, and to build trust-based relationships. These qualities, he noted, only become meaningful when grounded in strong personal values. Leadership, in this context, is not only about outcomes but about how those outcomes are achieved.

From Know-How to Do-How

The conversation also explored the shift from acquiring knowledge to developing actionable leadership behaviors. SEED places emphasis on “do-how”—supporting leaders in turning insights into new routines. Rather than short-term, knowledge-heavy formats, SEED’s programs are structured as longer-term journeys, combining mentoring and continuous reflection to drive lasting behavioral change.

Leadership in a Changing World

Dr. Eszes also addressed how the context of leadership is changing. With organizations facing growing uncertainty and constant transformation, leaders can no longer rely on static strategies or fixed directions. Instead, they need to remain adaptive, lead with clarity in ambiguity, and align their teams continuously to shifting priorities. The expectations placed on leaders have fundamentally evolved—and so must their development.
