Our faculty member, György Beck as the president of The John von Neumann Computer Society (NJSZT) contributed to an article about the ICT sector in 2020 with other experts.
The pandemic situation also came as a surprise to the ICT sector. Digital education had to be introduced in live, which was successful in many places. The infocommunications authority (NMHH) also succeeded to conduct the 5G frequency tender.
In summary, changes have now been made in many sectors that have long been planned, but otherwise could no longer be postponed. The digital economy in the CEE region grew by 14% since the outbreak in March, 2020.

He also presented at the CIO Hungary 2020 conference about the changing role of the ICT leaders, with the title: “From the Head of Computer Science Department to the Chief Data Officer”.
The relationship between IT and business is problematic, even during an economic boom. But the crisis situations make this even more problematic.
The role of Chief Information Officers and other CxO functions (Technology, Data, Security, Experience, etc.) will be dominant in the next period.

György also took part in a new book project about business stress – together with other top-managers (Károly Gerendai – Sziget Festival, Éva Hegedüs – Gránit Bank, Tamás Kürti – Kürt Zrt.). They are co-authors and interviewees of the book.
The title of the book is Business Burnout Bible (appeared in Hungarian) and is written by Bence Péter Bíró, psychologist and coach.
